Adult Sailing Course 2025 – Beginner

LuSS will continue of last year success of a beginner course specially for adults starting 19 of May 2025. No prior sailing skills prerequisites needed! Only requirement is that you are able to swim at least 200 meters.

The sailing class will offer a range of boats shifting between Laser, RS Feva, RS Terra and Optimist sailing Dinghy’s. ⛵

Activity and time plan:

The sailing class will take place on scheduled classes on Mondays evenings during the season. The goal is to provide you with the basics of sailing and after the course is over you should be able to manoeuvre and rig the boat all by yourself!

The agenda is attached below. Start date is 19 of May! 

During the course you will also have the opportunity to join the squadron sailing happening Saturday the 28 of June. A perfect opportunity to show of your new skills by a nice day on lake Väsman.

Time for all days is 17:00 -> 20:00, so perfect afterwork activity! ⛵

Location: We sail on Väsman and start at the paddle club's yellow house near STRI in Ludvika.

What to bring and wear

As we will be spending time on the lake there is always a risk you might get wet. Therefor it is recommended to wear sport clothes, swimwear or similar clothing. If you have a wetsuit that can also be used! It is also good bring a some extra clothing in case you get wet. Currently there is limited ability for changing rooms as it is being constructed so come dressed and ready at 17:00 to the sailing club!

And most important to bring, is a happy mood! 😎

Course fee (membership fee in LuSS included):

Course fee is paid via LuSS PlusGiro: 213 521-8 or Swish 123-046 31 58. Please add name and social security number in the payment. For those of you who do not have a Swedish bank account, have a chat with Erik and we will find a alterative solution!

Prerequisites beginner course: swimming skills 200 m.
